Flexible graphite is manufactured from high purity mineral graphite (expanded flake graphite). The industry also refers to flexible graphite as graphite foil, or by a brand name such as Grafoil®. Flexible graphite is chemical inert, chemical resistant, heat resistant, flexible and conformable. It has the ideal properties as a gasket material for fluid sealing applications. Various other industries also use flexible graphite as protective shields for heat, chemical and EMI applications, thermal conductor, high temp lubricant, etc.
