Ceramic Fiber Paper with Aluminum Foil

CeraTex® 3170AF

CeraTex® Ceramic Fiber Paper with Aluminum Foil is an alumino-silicate ceramic fiber-based non-woven fabric with a single-sided layer of laminated aluminum foil. It is manufactured through a special paper-making process with high purity washed fibers, suitable for high temperature insulation up to 2300°F.

Cross-reference: CeraTex 3170 is an equivalent/superior equivalent of the following styles: Unifrax Fiberfrax® 550, 970; Thermal Ceramic Kaowool 900; Lydall/Lytherm 1530, 1535.

Main Characteristics and Properties
  • White color, lightweight, flexible, good handling strength and good uniformity
  • Resists temperature as high as 2300º F, fire resistant
  • Low thermal conductivity, low heat storage, thermal shock resistant
  • Good dielectric strength
  • Excellent corrosion resistance (Resistant to most chemicals except hydrofluoric, phosphoric acids and concentrated alkalis)
  • Laminated aluminum foil layer (single side) provides protection against moisture and radiant heat
  • Good for die-cut and automatic stamping
